Skype Launches International VoIP Effort (Part 2)

global2.jpgHandsets from Motorola Inc, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson are part of the beta-testing process as they aim to get as much compatibility as possible for them to get successful acceptance into the fray of companies already providing the service. Their software is appealing to providers due to their move to use regular voice circuits rather than the provider’s data circuits which is the main concern of mobile providers as the main threat to their business. The application frees up their data channels from which they earn little from due to fixed rates per month. Second, the move would allow the mobile provider to earn form local airtime call minutes.
