That strikes them as very peculiar for something connected to an unsecured system like the internet even with all the intrusion prevention systems and malware protection is prone to get some form of hacking at one time or the other. This is more a question of if but of when with them saying that no news regarding attacks doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

It’s fast and easy, especially if the calls are for support which allows the actual scenario to be read out by the user to the support people for assistance. Like all internet reliant technologies, VoIP has its downsides and they are as with all the other technologies is security. A compromised Voip system is very hard to investigate not considering the fact that many companies are willing to share information of any problems they may have had.

Reliable old PBX boxes, these were the predecessors of the Voip Gateways that companies simply cannot do without. It has been proven reliable and has been in service for a long time that replacing them with a relatively new technology could mean suicide. As we all know, all companies rely on communications as a vital tool for the organization and the way it does business, handing it to a new technology that is IP-based is quite nerve-wrecking for as we all know, the Internet is still prone to failure as with the recent hardware and software (malware DoS attacks) problems that crippled most if not all of the internet. The key for the industry is to allow the two to work together hand-in hand to augment each other. That way, if the Internet were to fail again as it has for many times, the legacy PBX would still be functioning allowing the use of traditional equipment for communications.

Gizmo, is another free software from the Gizmo Project.com that allows free calls from your computer. The service allows free calls to any computer as long as they are logged onto the internet and are using the same software. It also has the uncanny ability to make call to over 60 countries which is charged for by other providers.
Fring, another free software and service for mobile phones that allows real-time online checking (the ability to se who’s on-line before you make the call), free voice calls using VoIp and it also offers live chat.
These are only some of the free and latest fun stuff that can be found on the internet and their main advantage over iChat (the built-in VoIp software included with Mac’s OS X), it allows interfacing with Skype, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, <a href="http://www.icq.com/>ICQ, <a href=http://www.google.com/talk/">Google Talk, SIP and Twitter.

Ever wished that all the advantages of Voip and your desktop messenger be portable enough to get packed into a mobile? Well, then this is good news for you for Yeigo is a software for mobile phone that brings them all together. The company offers the software and service for free but only if the other party is also using the same software. The Holler function of the software lets you buzz your friends who are not logged into the system getting them to connect with you. It offers all the services you get on your PC(messenger) and combines them with the cheapness of using Voip to make calls and the best part about it, its in your pocket anytime anywhere.

The company, in conjunction with AOL has joined forces for all text, voice and video service. Users have to sign-up for the said service with AOL to get an AOL account or with Apple itself for a .Mac account to use the service. The new iChat has many improvements including crystal clear voice and video through the use of the AAC-LD codec. There is also a new call recording function which in previous versions needed a separate third-party software to accomplish.
Some critics still complain about the inability of the said facility to inter-connect with other established instant messengers and that the said bonuses have been offered by other third party software makers.

As an answer to their so-called threat to the wireless provider’s market, the company president says on the contrary for they are even trying to work out deals with tie-ups from where they would be offering their software and service as an OEM application along with the mobile carrier’s products. The move would even bolster the capability of countries that have infrastructure capabilities that limits their market reach. Through the service, they hope to offer expanded range to their networks allowing more business to flow from those areas.

Many communications operators are finding their move threatening but the company CEO says it merely wants to merge traditional telephony and IP telephony together. The move was made possible when Apple Inc. released the iPhone SDK that allowed developers to develop applications for the iPhone platform as with Jajah they opted to develop a Voip systems which they are now introducing to the wireless market. The initial version of their WiFi Voip deployment was for the iPhone but would be deployed over the whole range of companies and mobile phones as soon as compatibility issues are answered.
