The service has been around for quite sometime yet the small box to which a soft phone plugs into may have lost luster compared to other options such as better IP-based telephony services. Skype has been thriving even with setbacks such as software bugs and growing competition yet they have outpaced other forms of the VoIP service and it has announced that they will be ending the service by the year’s end. Plagued by sound quality problems and many other hardware failure similar services by Vonage nave also suffered greatly over mobile VoIP and other options that are better in terms of voice quality and maybe even part due to the advent of video VoIP.
They have other options for interested customers who are greeted by a notice of service discontinuance that says it is not available. Other VoIP and high-speed products are available for interested subscribers and other providers are providing the same products in package form so they have a wide array of problems to consider at their disposal to get down and fast to chatting their way for free and with better quality than previous products.
