Companies Still Baffled at Unified Communications
The advantages of VoIP have been known to many for a long time yet not that many companies are opting to adopt the technology for their own use, why? Reliable old PBX boxes, these were the predecessors of the Voip Gateways that companies simply cannot do without. It has been proven reliable and has been in service for a long time that replacing them with a relatively new technology could mean suicide. As we all know, all companies rely on communications as a vital tool for the organization and the way it does business, handing it to a new technology that is IP-based is quite nerve-wrecking for as we all know, the Internet is still prone to failure as with the recent hardware and software (malware DoS attacks) problems that crippled most if not all of the internet. The key for the industry is to allow the two to work together hand-in hand to augment each other. That way, if the Internet were to fail again as it has for many times, the legacy PBX would still be functioning allowing the use of traditional equipment for communications.
