VoIP and Internet Security and Wiretapping (Part 1)

voipsecurity.jpgWiretapping has existed as one of the most effective surveillance tools ever since the telegraph was invented and today’s unified communications technology and shifting of business to them offers a wide open gap when it comes to information security. Wiretapping is one of the most useful form of information gathering the US government and the many othe intelligence communications services around the globe. The US and many other developing countries have had a system in place that monitors cellular phone signals for example that scans them fro pre-set words in the conversation which is then collated and studied for their threat value. Businesses have long used them as a source of information against competitors who wish to hide details about products to give them the edge.
